The topic for this year’s MacDiarmid Institute Regional Lecture Series is Good news for a change: Sustainability Tech in Aotearoa New Zealand and the science behind it.

In association with the Wanaka Branch of the Royal Society of NZ, join us at our second event of the series in Wanaka on 11th of August, when Anna Garden and Emilia Nowak will talk about will talk about some of the things happening within the sustainability tech ecosystem, such as exciting new sustainability technology, based on deep science, that’s making its way into the world with clear potential to address some of the challenges we’re facing.

Associate Professor Anna Garden a lecturer in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Otago and a Principal Investigator and Deputy Director Outreach and Education at the MacDiarmid Institute. Her research interests are focussed on using a computational approach to investigate catalysis of small molecule reactions on both extended and nanoparticle catalysts.

Dr Emilia Nowak is senior lecturer at Massey University and an Associate Investigator in the MacDiarmid Institute. Her research aims to capture dynamics at interfaces on small time and length scales (coalescence, breakage, wetting) to address fundamental questions in multiphase systems.
