Commercialisation Manager at the MacDiarmid Institute for Advance Materials and Nanotechnology

The MacDiarmid Institute is a Centre of Research Excellence (CoRE) and is hosted by Victoria University of Wellington. The MacDiarmid Institute has researchers based in seven partner organisations – University of Auckland, Massey University, University of Canterbury, University of Otago, Victoria University of Wellington, GNS Science and Callaghan Innovation. The Commercialisation Manager may be based in any of our partner organisations.

This is a fixed term, full time role (to Dec 2020).

We are seeking a motivated individual who can work well in a highly collaborative environment and who can contribute to the success of the MacDiarmid Institute and its people. You will be able to work independently, but also collaborate with the Investigators and students within the MacDiarmid Institute and our collaborators in industry.

Minimum requirements

  • Experience working with the hi-tech business sector
  • Experience working with the tertiary education system in New Zealand, including postgraduate students
  • Strong networks in industry and science commercialisation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrable project management skills
