MacDiarmid Institute researchers awarded three NZ Institute Chemistry awards

This year three MacDiarmid Institute affiliated researchers were awarded three out of five 2021 prizes from the New Zealand Institute of Chemistry (NZIC).

Associate Investigator, Professor Martyn Coles from Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington won The Maurice Wilkins Centre Prize for Chemical Science, for excellence and impact of his chemistry.

Principal Investigator, Dr Anna Garden from University of Otago won the Easterfield Award for her contribution in the field of chemistry.

Lastly, Qing Wang from Principal Investigator, Associate Professor Geoff Waterhouse's group at the University of Auckland was awarded the JEOL Brian Halton Award for the best paper in the field of chemistry published by a New Zealand University student.

The NZIC is a professional organisation that supports Chemical Sciences in New Zealand and is a member organisation of Royal Society Te Apārangi. Awards from NZIC are awarded annually, making it highly competitive.
