#MyResearchStory - Optical Microrobotics in a Time of Covid

This year for the 2022 MacDiarmid Institute Annual Symposium, there was a new challenge for the student and postdocs to take part in. In a video (no longer than 4 minutes), on the theme of #MyResearchStory, students and postdocs were challenged to share the story of their research interests and, more importantly, its inspiration and goal. The videos were required to be simple and convincing enough for a non-science-background audience.

The 2022 winner of our #MyResearchStory video contest was PhD student, Philippa-Kate (Kate) Andrew from Massey University. Kate's research story is set during Covid pandemic times, where they show us their work with DNA and optical tweezers in optical microrobotics. Kate also shares their love for microscopes and their journey as they complete an experiment and grow as a PhD student.
