Ebubekir Avci received his PhD degree in robotics from Osaka University, Japan and was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Toyota Technological Institute, Japan in the field of parallel mechanism robots. Then, he was a Research Associate with the Hamlyn Centre for Robotic Surgery, Imperial College, London. Until 2024 Ebu worked at Massey University as a Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor in Mechatronics and Robotics, and he is now Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Canterbury.
