Dr Muhammad Hanif

Muhammad Hanif is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Auckland. He has been working in New Zealand since March 2013. He holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Vienna, Austria. His research contributions have been recognised by prestigious awards including the Erwin Schrödinger Fellowship, Sir Charles Hercus Fellowship, and Alan Sargeson Lectureship Award.

The data centres worldwide that support our digital lifestyles use almost ten times as much electricity per year as the whole of NZ. We will develop computing materials that process information more like a brain, and that use far less energy than conventional electronics.
