Jack Chen is a Senior Lecturer in Chemistry at the Auckland University at Technology, teaching organic chemistry, molecular design and general chemistry. He conducted his PhD and a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Auckland with Professor Margaret Brimble, working on the synthesis of spirastrellolide B - a potent protein phosphatase inhibitor with potential anti-cancer properties.

Ebubekir Avci received his PhD degree in robotics from Osaka University, Japan and was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Toyota Technological Institute, Japan in the field of parallel mechanism robots. Then, he was a Research Associate with the Hamlyn Centre for Robotic Surgery, Imperial College, London. Until 2024 Ebu worked at Massey University as a Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor in Mechatronics and Robotics, and he is now Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Canterbury.

Catherine is an Associate Professor in Chemistry at Massey University, appointed in late October 2014. Prior to this she was an ARC Future Fellow and Senior Research Fellow at the Ian Wark Research Institute at the University of South Australia. She is a physical chemist with expertise in colloid and surface chemistry. Catherine is also the elected representative for MacDiarmid Institute Associate Investigators on the Science Executive.

Laura Domigan completed her PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Canterbury. Her postdoctoral research was at Tufts University, Boston, in a lab where they studied silk materials, renowned for their strength. She returned to New Zealand in 2015 to join the University of Auckland.

Erin Leitao is an Associate Professor in Chemistry at the University of Auckland. Her career in science started in Canada with a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Victoria, followed by a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Calgary. Erin then went on to do postdoctoral research in Bristol before coming to New Zealand and joining the University of Auckland in 2015.

Dr Nowak graduated from ZUT, Szczecin in 2008 in Chemical and Process Engineering (the best student in graduating class) as well as completed 2.5 years in Automatic Control and Robotics (ZUT, Electrical Engineering). Subsequently she received PhD (2013) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Birmingham (UK), where she was researching gas-liquid-solid interactions.
